ESPN’s Stephen Smith entitled to his opinions (Opinion) –

The only offense he committed was that he blathered so incoherently that he made it hard to see how he managed to get a TV show in the first place. So, if ESPN wants to take him off the air and replace him with a better commentator, I’m all for it. But I’m disgusted at the rancorous, politically correct swarm that descended upon Smith, and the spineless reaction of the management at ESPN. And once the swarm gets into “beast mode,” there is no recovery. Why?

So it’s not just that a punter is going into the Hall of Fame; it’s that it’s this particular one. “He’s the guy that everybody thinks of,” Weatherford said. “He was the person that made people start to care about that position and think it was more than just a body on the team.

New York Giants Steve Weatherford: ‘About time’ for punter in Hall – ESPN

This is a peculiar and vexing problem for astronomers. ANALYSIS: Milky Ways Gamma-ray Bubbles Shaped by Dark Matter? Since the Fermi bubbles have no known counterparts in other wavelengths in areas high above the galactic plane, all we have to go on for clues are the gamma rays themselves, said postdoctoral researcher Anna Franckowiak of the Kavli Institute for Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology. A few models have been put forward, but none fully explain the shape, scope or luminosity of these gamma-ray factories. Could the bubbles be expanding from black hole jets? Or could it be that a cluster of young massive stars formed and exploded at the same time, producing the huge bubbles like supernova exhaust?
